National Museum Earth and Man

The National Museum Earth and Man is one of the largest mineralogical museums in tхе world. Located on Cherni Vrah Boulevard, it is in close proximity to the National Palace of Culture and the shopping center called Park Center Sofia (formerly known as CityCenter Sofia).
The museum Earth and Man is housed in a reconctructed building from the 19th century. It is not the impressive architecture that amazes visitors, but the stunning variety of exhibits. Among its numerous exhibition halls is housed the museums collection of over 20000 items on display, which cover 40% of all naturally occuring minerals as well as man-made ceramics.
The displayed exhibits are categorized in three main groups – giant crystals, the mineralsof Bulgaria and precious stones.
The National Museum Earth and Man houses a conference hall and audio-visual rooms, thus it is host to various other exhibitions for e.g. exotic reptiles, an annual cat’s exhibition, concerts, conferences and seminars.

The National Museum Earth and Man has its doors open each day aside from Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM local time and has a very attractive ticket admission of only 2 leva.The Earth and Man museum has its own gift shop, which offers visitors the chance to obtain a piece of the planets great art. It is also foreigner friendly, as explanations are provided in several languages, if needed.
