With its population of 211 000 Burgas is the second largest city on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast and the fourth-largest in Bulgaria after Sofia, Plovdiv, and Varna.
It is located on the Black Sea Coast, at the eastern border of the European Union and it is an important industrial, transport, cultural and tourist center. Its strategic place on Europe’s map has helped it to develop as a place you can easily reach. Burgas has an international airport, a maritime station, train station and two coach stations. A highway links the city to the capital – Sofia.
